Five Merseyside police officers face misconduct hearings over “inappropriate” texts found on sacked inspector’s phone
FIVE police officers are facing disciplinary action after a huge probe into “inappropriate” text messages.Source: Liverpool Echo
The investigation was launched as part of the inquiry into the activities of sacked Chief Inspector Mark Brew earlier this year. Brew, 47, was suspended while an internal inquiry took place and his work mobile phone was analysed as part of the probe.
The ECHO understands as well as implicating Brew and leading to his dismissal, the contents of certain text messages sparked the further investigation of other officers. It is believed at one point up to 28 texts, some said to be from officers in other forces, were examined. Merseyside Police today confirmed five officers were heading for misconduct hearings as a result of the discoveries.

Merseyside Police Officer slaps youth
This video was recently sent to me. I sent it to various media outlets and Merseyside Police (who had already seen it last year and took no action against the officer concerned).
This is the response from Merseyside Police.
A Merseyside Police spokesperson, said: "During the evening of Monday, 23 July (2012), Merseyside Police was made aware of a video on YouTube that appears to show a police officer behaving in an inappropriate manner.
"The footage was obtained and an immediate investigation was launched by the Force’s Professional Standards Department. “A 31-year-old serving police officer has been placed on restrictive duties whilst the investigation into the matter is conducted.

A high ranking Inspector with Merseyside Police force's Matrix gun squad has been sacked over allegations that he used his Police issued mobile phone to send and exchange dirty texts with colleagues and download internet porn.
Inspector Mark Brew, was also alleged to have left a conference to meet with a married woman and got a junior constable to drive from Merseyside to London to pick him up rather than him get the train.
Brew is said to have admitted using his work iPhone and Blackberry to trawl the net for porn and to swap ‘sex texts’ with two woman, thought to be colleagues within Merseyside police.
The Inspector was suspended last year amid a shake-up of Matrix after it was revealed damning photos of a search team fooling around in the home of a suspect when they were supposed to be looking for clues.
Six officers – Sgt Charlie Tennant and five constables – were later sacked by the force.

85 yr old gets six months for videoing in a Public place - FREE Norman Scarth!
Norman Scarth (pictured) is 85 years old, and a World war II veteran. In his latter years of life, he finds himself still fighting tyranny, as in his retirement his life has ben hijacked by constant harrassment and targetting by the bullying authorities and Police.
This is the kind of oppression that he and so many others fought against, many dying in the process.
Norman was jailed in July 2011 for SIX MONTHS, for an alledged "contempt of court" when he was found video recording his own court porceedings, (are there not CCTV cameras in every "court").
This is an evil and barbaric way to treat an 85 year old man! Norman is currently in Armley prison in Leeds. You can write to him at;

European Court of Human Rights rules Random Stop & Search illegal
Judges in the European Court of Human Rights in Strasbourg, today ruled that randomly stopping and searching people without having a reasonable suspicion that they have committed a crime, is illegal and a violation of Article 8 of the Human Rights Convention which states everyone has the right to ‘respect’ for their private and family life.
The claim was brought by Kevin Gillan and Pennie Quinton, who were stopped by police while on their way to a demonstration outside the annual arms fair at the Excel centre, in London's Docklands, in September 2003.
Quinton, a journalist, was ordered to stop filming the protest despite showing her press card, while Gillan, who was riding his bicycle, was only allowed to go on his way after 20 minutes. They were awarded €33,850 (£30,400) in costs and expenses.
The UK Government has stated that they may appeal and will be ignoring the ruling as Home secretary Alan Johnson said: ‘Police will continue to have these powers available to them.’
In my opinion, the Police will be now be behaving illegally under Human Rights legislation, if they search someone without reasonable suspicion, they would be held personally responsible, regardless of what the government policy is.

Freeman Darren Pollard is re-arrested
Darren Pollard attended court this morning 20 July 2009, in relation to the matter of alleged breach of the peace on 11th July 2009.
When the clerk called "Mr Pollard", Darren told her that he was not Mr Pollard (legal fiction), but that his name was Darren (a human being) and that he was attending in relation to the matter indicated on their written 'invitation'.
The hearing was set for 10:30am in Court 11 where Darren had served the judge with papers, but the courts changed the court room and judge to Court 7 (with an enclosed dock), canceling out the served judge.
Darren told the court that he was not accepting these new terms and that he certainly would not be entering an enclosed pen. He told the clerk that they had 1hr to sort out this human rights violation and that he would be awaiting their response outside their place of business.
The video explains the rest, but I might add that Darren has since been refused bail and remanded in custody to Winston Green prison.
